Running back Ben Tate didn't take long to find new work -- the Minnesota Vikings claimed him off waivers on Wednesday.
Vikings claim Ben Tate off waivers, further muddling fantasy RB situation
Minnesota added to their backfield on Wednesday, claiming Ben Tate off waivers. We break down the fantasy implications.

Tate was waived by the Cleveland Browns on Monday after a disappointing first season. Through eight games, he rushed 108 times for just 333 yards and four touchdowns, averaging 3.1 yards per carry. Tate was losing snaps to rookies Isaiah Crowell and Terrance West, and the Browns decided to cut their losses after signing him to a two-year, $6.2 million contract in the offseason.
Fantasy impact: The Vikings made the move after learning that Adrian Peterson will be suspended for the rest of the season. Tate will join a backfield committee that includes Jerick McKinnon and Matt Asiata. McKinnon is the ostensible lead back, but he has been slumping in recent weeks, failing to reach 100 rushing yards since Week 7. Asiata might be the most plodding goal-line back in the league. Tate could end up taking Asiata's role, but this is a fantasy situation to avoid for the time being. We recommend leaving Tate on waivers while he learns the new offense.
