San Diego Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers was on fire earlier this season and threw for three touchdowns in four games during a five-game stretch from Week 2 to Week 5. Lately, he's only thrown one touchdown in the past two weeks and has four turnovers in that span, giving him an average of 3 fantasy points per game.
Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 12: Philip Rivers
Philip Rivers is starting to slow down. Should fantasy owners put him in their lineups this week?

This week, he'll get an interesting matchup against the St. Louis Rams. While the Rams have been the eighth-easiest matchup for quarterbacks this season, they are playing much better and are putting some pressure on the quarterback these days. In the past four weeks, they haven't allowed more than one score to quarterbacks and that includes a matchup against Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning last week. The Rams are also good against tight ends, so that might limit chances to Antonio Gates and may cause the Chargers to try to run it in more. Ryan Mathews is back, too.
Fantasy impact: A few weeks ago, Rivers would have been impossible to bench. This week, he’s a low-end QB1 with a lot of risk.
