Broncos-Dolphins fantasy projections: Peyton Manning, Demaryius Thomas, Mike Wallace should have big days

The Week 12 matchup between the Miami Dolphins and Denver Broncos features one team looking to rebound from a surprising loss. We've got the fantasy projections for you courtesy of numberFire.

Wide receiver Mike Wallace struggled against the Buffalo Bills last week catching four passes for just 38 yards. As has usually been the case throughout his career, Wallace can be hit or miss depending on the week. This week against the Broncos is shaping up to be a hit, mostly because the Broncos will be looking to avenge a rare loss and likely be firing on all cylinders offensively. Somebody in the Dolphins' receiving corps. is going to have to step up and it will likely be Wallace. That could mean some solid fantasy output from the veteran receiver.

As usual Lamar Miller will have to carry the team on the ground. He had 86 yards on 15 carries against Buffalo and although he's been battling a shoulder injury for a little while now, he's been able to play through it. Miller may not be as busy against the Broncos as he usually is should the Dolphins fall behind, but he rarely gets beyond 15 carries anyway, so fantasy owners who were using him throughout the season should have an idea of what to expect on Sunday. The Broncos don't shy away from giving up yards or points to the run, so Miller could find himself in the end zone in Week 12.

Quarterback Peyton Manning simply didn't look like himself last week against the St. Louis Rams. The Rams were able to get to him in the pocket several times during the game, which threw off his rhythm and produced some rare ill-advised throws. The fact that he threw for 389 passing yards saved his fantasy day somewhat, but almost uncharacteristically, manually through for one touchdown and two interceptions. It's anybody's guess as to the last time that happened.

Given that Miami boasts the best pass defense in the league when it comes to limiting quarterbacks to fantasy points, Manning may have to rely on wide receiver Demaryius Thomas a lot on Sunday. Julius Thomas (ankle) was quite limited at practice on Friday and Emmanuel Sanders (concussion) will likely sit out as well. That's good news for fantasy owners of Demaryius, especially considering he has gone for more than 100 yards receiving in each of the last seven games, a streak that is likely to continue even against a tough Dolphins defense. It goes without saying he is the one fantasy receiver in this game that absolutely has to start.
