Alfred Morris, Colin Kaepernick offer best opportunity for fantasy owners in 49ers-Washington
We break down the Week 12 matchup between Washington and the San Francisco 49ers.

Washington
Even though Washington’s season is over in terms of having any hope of gaining playoff contention, quarterback Robert Griffin III is really going to have to step his game up if he wants to remain Washington’s quarterback of the future. Some were hoping that maybe Kirk Cousins or Colt McCoy would shine when given the opportunity, but it looks like it’s still Griffin’s team. He threw for 207 yards a touchdown and two interceptions in a loss to Tampa Bay last week and his fantasy value is at a real low point right now as a result.
Griffin’s inconsistent play likely means some more work for running back Alfred Morris. Morris has run for 92 yards and 96 yards in the last two weeks, respectively, both of which are his two highest totals of the season. Although he didn’t find the end zone on the ground last week, it’s quite clear that the mere presence of Griffin and the pocket has given Morris more room to run. Hopefully he will be able to capitalize on that extra space in Week 12 against the 49ers.
San Francisco 49ers
As much as this year has been tough on RG3, the last few weeks have been equally tough on 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick. While he did manage to pull out an overtime win against the New Orleans Saints two weeks ago, Kaep’s been held to just a single touchdown through the air each week for the last four games. The New York Giants limited him to fewer than 200 yards passing last week, marking the first time this year Kaepernick has been held below that total. There’s no doubt he’ll have to do what he can to get above that mark going into the game against Washington if the 49ers and fantasy owners hope to escape Week 12 with a victory.
If Kaepernick does manage to dominate an easily beatable Washington secondary, it could mean a big day for veteran Anquan Boldin, who was held to 53 yards on five catches last week, but did have scores in back-to-back weeks prior to that. He will aim to get free against a Washington secondary that allowed the Bucs’ Mike Evans to go off for 209 yards and a pair of scores last week. Boldin is worth plugging into the lineup Sunday in deeper formats.
