If Ryan Mallett is the future of the Houston Texans, he hasn't proven it yet. Mallett finished Sunday's loss against the Cincinnati Bengals 21-of-45 for 189 yards, one interception, and zero touchdowns. There seemed to be no chemistry happening with Houston's offense, as Mallett was erratic and inaccurate for most of the afternoon. It wasn't until after the game that reports surfaced regarding Mallett dealing with a torn pectoral muscle on Sunday. His injury could possibly keep him sidelined for the remainder of the season. It's unlikely that the Texans want to return to Ryan Fitzpatrick, but they may not have a choice. Even if Mallett turns out to be healthy enough to play, if he can't bounce back against the Tennessee Titans, his job will be far from safe.
Fantasy football waiver wire, Week 13: Ryan Mallett sees fantasy stock falling
Ryan Mallett stumbled on Sunday and now may be dealing with a season-ending injury. We take a look at his fantasy value moving forward.

Fantasy impact: Fantasy owners who scooped up Mallett as a late-season lottery ticket should realize that it’s not looking good. Even if Mallett ends up being healthy enough to play against the Titans in Week 13, it may be too late in the season to rely on him as many leagues head into their fantasy playoffs. He’s a desperation option for two-quarterback leagues at this point. Deeper two-quarterback leagues may want to grab Fitzpatrick for insurance if the waiver wire is bare.
