New England Patriots tight end Tim Wright took part in a season-high 61 offensive snaps on Sunday against the Detroit Lions. Wright's previous season high was just 21 snaps, so him taking part in all but 20 of New England's offensive plays is definitely significant. He was the second tight end on the field, and that's significant because the Patriots and, by extension, Tom Brady love throwing to tight ends.

Wright wound up catching five passes for 36 yards, which isn't much, but he also accounted for both of Brady's passing touchdowns on the day. Wright is in his second season in the league, having spent his first with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He caught 54 passes for 571 yards and five touchdowns with the Buccaneers, and has always been regarded as someone with receiving talent.
Fantasy Impact: So what to expect from him going forward? The No. 2 tight end in New England is always worth a start in fantasy football if that player is going to get enough playing time. The problem here is that nobody really saw Wright coming this week, so whether or not his high snap count will continue is the big question.
