New Orleans Saints wide receiver Kenny Stills' light hasn't been as bright as it was last year when he was a solid rookie playing in the Saints' high-octane offense. The drafting of Brandin Cooks obviously had an effect on his role and production, but Cooks is now out for the season with a thumb injury. Stills was expected to see an uptick in his numbers in Cooks' absence and if you took that gamble, it paid off for you in a big way.
Fantasy football waiver wire, Week 13: Kenny Stills’ light shines bright
Saints wide receiver Kenny Stills’ light shone bright in the absence of Brandin Cooks on “Monday Night Football.” We bring you the fantasy implications here.
The Saints put up big numbers against a good Baltimore Ravens defense Monday night, though they didn't get the win. Stills saw nine targets on the night and finished with eight receptions for 98 yards. While he didn't find the end zone, he caught almost everything thrown his way. The Saints' season has been a big disappointment but it was encouraging to see the reemergence of Stills.
The Saints play in the dreadful NFC South which features the defensive-challenged Atlanta Falcons and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, both of whom the Saints will face one more time. The Panthers' defense hasn't been much better either and they also remain on the schedule. They also play the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Chicago Bears.
Fantasy impact: With favorable matchups in the weeks to come and a terrible defense of their own, the Saints are likely to be putting up some big numbers on offense. Stills’ reemergence on Monday night puts him squarely back on the fantasy radar and he should be added if he is available in your fantasy leagues.
