Newton’s vehicle overturned several times, so it’s incredibly fortunate that he’s not dealing with more serious injuries. But even if the fractures aren’t that big of a deal, they’re serious enough to keep him sidelined. The Panthers are technically in the middle of a playoff race in the bad NFC South, but for Newton and the Panthers, it’s all about ensuring he recovers properly from an accident that could have gone a whole lot worse.
Fantasy Impact: Fantasy owners should be looking to Anderson as the starter this week. Anderson completed 24 of 34 passes for 230 yards and two touchdowns with no picks in Week 1 when Newton missed that game with fractured ribs. Anderson has been solid in mop-up duty as well this season. Fantasy owners could do a whole lot worse than Anderson at this point.
