Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton will play on Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns. Newton is dealing with a back injury stemming from a car accident. The injury kept him out of last week's game, but he's returning in Week 16. Derek Anderson performed well in spot duty, but Newton will now come in and try and lead the Panthers to the playoffs.
Cam Newton injury update: Panthers QB is active; will play for fantasy owners
Newton is active for Sunday’s game against the Cleveland Browns. We break down the fantasy implications.

The NFC South is still up for grabs, with the Panthers trailing the New Orleans Saints by half a game. New Orleans is 6-8, while the Panthers are 5-8-1. Newton leads the Panthers with 2,812 yards, 16 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. It hasn't been a smooth season, as he's completed just 58.4 percent of his passes and has been criticized throughout, but he's got his eyes on a big game against Cleveland on Sunday.
Fantasy Impact: The Browns aren't in the playoff race at this point, so the Panthers actually have more to fight for, despite Cleveland generally looking better this year. With Browns cornerback Joe Haden inactive on Sunday, Newton gets a bump in fantasy value. Kelvin Benjamin should be in for a big day with his quarterback returning and the absence of Pro Bowler Haden.
