Julio Jones officially is active.
— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) December 21, 2014 The question remains: How “active” will Jones be? He’s reportedly dealing with an oblique injury. His pain tolerance will be key. If he can stay on the field, Jones could be an elite decoy at worst, but there’s no doubt he should have opportunity against the Saints lackluster defense. Harry Douglas will also suit up. He and Roddy White could benefit if Jones is unable to make plays consistently.
Fantasy Spin: Two weeks ago, as fantasy owners watched Jones light-up the Packers for 259 yards and a touchdown, this matchup seemed like a slam-dunk for championship week. Now it looks like anything but, even versus the Saints' leaky secondary.
Despite this, owners would be wise to allow themselves the opportunity to start Jones. He may be on the lower end of the WR1 discussion simply because of his questionable health. Douglas can still be considered a WR3, but he’s more of a risk with Jones potentially eating up targets. Still, the potential for Jones as a decoy leaves a lot of upside for Douglas.
