New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman did not make the trip to New York for the team's matchup with the Jets Sunday.
Julian Edelman injury update: Concussed WR will not play for Patriots, fantasy owners
The Patriots will be without their slot receiver for Sunday’s game against the New York Jets. We break down the fantasy implications.

Edelman has been dealing with lingering effects of a concussion, and his inability to play on Sunday leaves some opportunity for wide receiver Danny Amendola. Though Edelman was able to practice Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at a limited basis, he simply couldn’t get the clearance to take the field. Edelman was putting up impressive numbers on the tail end of the season. Over the past two weeks, Edelman had a total of 229 yards and two touchdowns.
Fantasy Spin: The good news for fantasy owners is that they now know Edelman's status before it's too late, since the Patriots will play in the 1 p.m. slate of games. Brandon LaFell's ceiling increases significantly and would make for a preferred flex option. Again, Amendola could see an increased workload as well, but he isn't on the fantasy radar.
