Chicago Bears quarterback Jimmy Clausen will get his first start of the season this week. The Bears decided to bench incumbent starter Jay Cutler, which opened the door for Clausen to make his first start since 2010.
Fantasy start/sit advice, Week 16: Jimmy Clausen
The Bears quarterback will be under center for the first time this season. Is he worth the start in the fantasy finals?

He didn’t exactly light things up in his time with the Panthers. Originally a second-round pick in 2010, Clausen played in 13 games and started 10 of them, finishing the season with 1,558 yards passing, a 52.5 completion rate, a 1:3 touchdown:interception ratio and two lost fumbles. Uninspired by what they saw, Carolina drafted Cam Newton with the No. 1 overall pick the next year.
Fantasy Impact: Clausen will attempt to shake the rust off against a tough Detroit Lions defense. The unit gives up the fifth-fewest fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks. Considering his outdated and underachieving resume, there’s little reason to give Clausen starting consideration. Even owners in two-quarterback leagues desperate for a second starter can do better than Clausen. He’s a bottom barrel QB2.
