Another week, another time fantasy tight ends are all over the place. Last week, the top two tight ends were probably not in many lineups. Seattle Seahawks tight end Luke Wilson led the way with 139 yards and two scores while Zach Ertz caught 15 passes for 115 yards. Heck, Cincinnati Bengals tight end Jermaine Gresham was productive on Monday Night Football.
Fantasy football waiver wire: 5 tight ends to target for Week 17
Chances are you don’t need a tight end in your fantasy championship, but if you do, these guys could help you.

This week, teams are not going to be resting guys with so many teams having something to play for. That means fantasy owners shouldn't spend too much time being concerned about their guys missing time. Although, the Indianapolis Colts are probably the riskiest of the bunch, so owners of tight end Coby Fleener might want to be careful.
Here are five tight ends at least worth a look:
Charles Clay, Miami Dolphins (owned in 47 percent of leagues) - He was terrific last week with 114 yards and six catches against the Minnesota Vikings. Clay gets a great matchup this week against the New York Jets. He missed their first game due to an injury, but he's had success against them in their career. The Jets are one of the best matchups for tight ends, so consider Clay as a top-eight play this week.
Mychal Rivera, Oakland Raiders (owned in 27 percent of leagues) - The matchup got the best of him in Week 16. The Buffalo Bills are the third-toughest matchup against fantasy tight ends. He only had one catch for five yards.
Before that stinker, he had seven catches in back-to-back games, so he gets a pass here. Looking ahead, the Raiders get a date with the Denver Broncos, who just gave up a big day to Jermaine Gresham on Monday. They are one of the best three matchups against fantasy tight ends and Rivera did put up an 18-point game in PPR leagues against them in Week 10. He's a top-12 play this week.
Zach Ertz, Philadelphia Eagles (owned in 61 percent of leagues) - It looked like he was dead in the fantasy world, but came out of nowhere for one of the most impressive PPR games for any tight end this season. Ertz's 15 catches were more than he had combined dating back to Week 8, which is kind of crazy to think about.
He played 79 percent of snaps and the Eagles will likely lean on him again. The New York Giants are a mid-level matchup, so Ertz isn't an elite play.
Jermaine Gresham, Cincinnati Bengals (owned in 9 percent of leagues) - Receiver A.J. Green could miss some time. He was battling an arm injury on Monday Night Football and could not finish the game. Meanwhile, Gresham scored a huge TD to highlight his day of nine catches and 62 yards.
He'll get a favorable matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers, who are in the bottom 10 for points allowed to fantasy tight ends. Gresham would be a low-end TE1 sans Green. If Green is a go, there is too much risk.
Luke Wilson, Seattle Seahawks (owned in 1 percent of leagues) - Over the past couple years, the Arizona Cardinals have been among the best matchups for tight ends. Well, as mentioned above, Wilson went off with two long scores in an easy win. He had a combined 0.0 points on the season before that explosion, so nobody had him in a lineup.
He is still a little too risky.
