The Week 14 matchup between the St. Louis Rams and Washington features two starting quarterbacks who were an afterthought at the beginning of the season. We've got the fantasy projections for you courtesy of numberFire.
Stedman Bailey, Colt McCoy, Alfred Morris among fantasy names to watch in Rams-Washington
We break down the Week 14 matchup between the St. Louis Rams and Washington.
St. Louis Rams
Everybody knows that wide receiver Stedman Bailey is one of the more talented players on the Rams. Like any other player he has to earn his keep and last week he took a step in the right direction. Bailey notched five catches for 100 yards against the Oakland Raiders, which brought his stats up to 12 catches for 189 yards and a touchdown over the last two weeks. While Kenny Britt has shown flashes of production, It's clear now that Bailey is emerging as the team's most promising receiver in the fantasy postseason.
Another impact player in the Rams' offense down the stretch will likely be running back Tre Mason. Mason started taking away touches from teammate Zac Stacy and Benny Cunningham earlier this season, but after last week's performance, he may have stolen a more permanent chunk of the timeshare that coach Jeff Fisher has initiated. Mason only carried the ball 14 times last week managed to put up 117 yards and a pair of touchdowns on the ground and also produced an additional 47 yards and a touchdown in the passing game. It would be difficult for him to produce at that level two weeks in a row, but Washington doesn't scare anybody, which means he could pass his projected totals in Week 14.
Washington
With DeSean Jackson (leg) sidelined at practice all week, Coach Jay Gruden may have to rely on passing schemes that get tight end the ball down the middle. While missing your team's top deep threat is never a good thing, it is good news that Reed is back to full strength and also that he was able to have a big game against the Indianapolis Colts last week. He caught nine passes for 123 yards in the game and he should be fairly busy against the Rams on Sunday.
The other fantasy option on Washington's side of the football will be running back Alfred Morris. Morris did have a relatively quiet day against the Colts last week, but a lot of that has to do with the fact that Washington gave up 49 points in the contest. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that it's hard to run the ball when you're down by that much. The good news for Morris' owners is that the Rams aren't likely to put anywhere near 52 points up on the scoreboard for two weeks in a row.
