Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton had been left for dead in several fantasy circles -- he had averaged only 12.2 fantasy points a game since Week 6, and didn't look to have his same legs under him as he had in the past. Newton silenced some of those worries and had his biggest game of the year in the Panthers' 41-10 win over the New Orleans Saints.
Fantasy football waiver wire, Week 15: Cam Newton has huge game
The Carolina quarterback had his biggest performance of the year Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.

Newton completed 21 of 33 pass attempts Sunday for 226 yards and three passing touchdowns, adding 83 rushing yards and a touchdown on the ground. That was good for 35 fantasy points, two more than Newton had in his big Week 6 game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Fantasy impact: Who knows with Newton at this point. He looked awful to start the season, and just as everyone sold out, he put up that huge Week 6 game. Then everyone bought back in, and he slipped again before Sunday’s huge game. Is this a return to form, or another false promise?
Until we can see Newton string together a couple good games -- not necessarily dominant ones like Sunday, but a fantasy score in the 20s would be nice -- it’s hard to rate him as much better than a high-upside QB2. But it’s nice he still has this in the chamber.
