The Tennessee Titans are calling Shonn Greene their starting running back through one preseason game, but rookie Bishop Sankey, the favorite to ultimately win the job, is getting some recognition. Titans coach Ken Whisenhunt identified Sankey, the third running back on the field, as a player who "got his attention," according to Jim Wyatt of The Tennessean.

Sankey, a second-round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, was behind both Greene and Dexter McCluster on the running back depth chart going into the preseason opener. But he got more playing time than either, and he took advantage of it. While he did struggle to pick up consistent yardage on the ground -- he had 13 carries for just 37 yards -- he managed three receptions for 38 yards and a touchdown.
Fantasy Impact: The receiving yardage is significant, because it’s one of Greene’s biggest weaknesses. Greene has been a productive running back in the past, but he had just 295 yards in 11 games with the Titans last season, and had just six receptions for 39 yards in that time.
Many feel Sankey will get the starting nod when it comes to the regular season, and it’s hard to disagree with the notion. As to whether or not he’s a strong fantasy option ... we need to see a little more, but he’s expected to play a big role in Tennessee’s offense this season. Greene, for now, should be avoided.
