He played against the Texans’ third-string defense, so those numbers obviously come with a grain of salt, but it was good enough to grab attention -- ESPN’s Ron Jaworski said that Thomas was the most impressive rookie quarterback in Week 1 of the preseason.
Fantasy impact: Thomas isn't taking the starting job away from Carson Palmer anytime soon, and there's a reason he fell to the fourth round in the NFL Draft. Still, his completion percentage is an encouraging sign after he struggled badly with accuracy issues at Virginia Tech. Thomas has the size and arm strength to shine in Bruce Arians' offense if he gets enough time and patience to develop. He won't be fantasy-relevant in 2014, but is worth a roster stash in the deepest of Dynasty leagues with Palmer turning 35 later this year.
