Toby Gerhart appears to be over his hip flexor injury. The Jacksonville Jaguars running back returned to practice on Tuesday and there haven't been any setbacks. Gerhart hopes to make his preseason debut against the Chicago Bears on Thursday.
Toby Gerhart hopes to play Thursday, fantasy status is unchanged
Gerhart is back from a hip flexor injury and will try to get some preseason reps in on Thursday. We break down the fantasy implications.

Gerhart missed over a week of training camp with the injury, but it was never believed to be serious. He sat out last week's preseason opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, in which the Jaguars used a rotation of backs. Jordan Todman started with the first team, but Storm Johnson played the most snaps with 21, getting 21 yards on nine carries. Denard Robinson rushed seven times for 36 yards, leading the team.
Fantasy impact: The Jaguars probably don’t want to risk their new bell-cow back, so don’t expect Gerhart to get more than a handful of snaps on Thursday, if he even plays at all. He should still be available in the fourth or fifth round in many drafts -- Jacksonville plans on leaning on him and much of his fantasy value could come from volume alone. Johnson is the early favorite to emerge as his primary backup and handcuff.
