Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Dwayne Bowe struggled last season, and he hasn't exactly impressed in training camp. Bowe had the worst statistical season of his career in 2013 (not counting a 2009 season cut short by injury), and according to Adam Teicher of ESPN, Bowe "hasn't had a great camp." He also says that the Chiefs "may be guilty of wishful thinking" when it comes to Bowe and the large contract extension he received last year.

Dwayne Bowe has not had a great camp thus far and is coming off a bad season in 2013. We break down the fantasy implications.

Obviously, Bowe could come out of the gate swinging and look great this season. Training camp and the preseason rarely determine a player like Bowe’s fate given that he’s a seven-year veteran of the NFL. But he had just 673 yards off of 57 receptions last season, and only 801 yards and 59 receptions the year before that. All that said, bouncing back wouldn’t be totally unheard of.
Fantasy Football: Bowe has been an excellent fantasy wide receiver over the years, but he seems to be on the decline and Alex Smith isn't going to lead any top passing offenses at this point. Bowe could wind up having an excellent year and it wouldn't be shocking given his history, but at the same time he's no longer a strong WR1 or even a WR2 option at this point. He's difficult to recommend, especially with a poor camp.
