The success of the Miami offense depends on Wallace and Ryan Tannehill hooking up early and often. Bill Lazor is the new offensive coordinator and is hoping he can use Wallace to his strengths. Wallace has never been shy about complaining when he's not a fan of the way he's being used in the offense, evidenced by his 2013 season and the various interviews he gave.
Finally seeing him in action in this new offense, even in a preseason game, is an exciting prospect.
Fantasy Impact: Wallace joined the Dolphins as one of the biggest signings of last offseason, but he had a slow start to his season. He finished with 73 receptions for 930 yards and five touchdowns -- not terrible numbers, but well below expectations. Fantasy owners were also disappointed, and as a result, he hasn’t been drafted as highly this year.
Make no mistake, though: Wallace is a true No. 1 option at the receiver position. While he does obviously come with more risks, the reward is high and he’s a steal where he’s been going in drafts this offseason. You’ll want some strong options around him, but going with Wallace could be a smart option this year.
