Indianapolis Colts running back Trent Richardson didn't have a great showing in the team's preseason opener and struggled early in camp. But he's been picking things up of late and has been making his presence felt, according to Stephen Holder of the Indy Star. That's significant given his early struggles. Holder says Richardson is running with "determination and decisiveness."
Trent Richardson looking good in practice, but fantasy owners should still get Ahmad Bradshaw as handcuff
Trent Richardson is looking good in practice for a change. We break down the fantasy implications.

Of course, this is exactly the opposite of what we see when he's actually playing. His struggles in the NFL are well-documented, and his time with the Colts in particular has been poor. He's already been labeled a first-round bust (twice over, given that the Colts traded a first-round pick to acquire him from the Cleveland Browns).

Fantasy Impact: So Richardson is performing well in practice ... so what does that mean? It’s hard to recommend Richardson as an RB1, though it’s worth noting that he does still have a ton of upside and potential. If he can approach the level of play that was expected of him out of college, then Richardson will pay off big time for fantasy owners.
As it stands, owners going in on Richardson really should also get Ahmad Bradshaw as a solid handcuff. Bradshaw has shown consistent ability to pick up yardage, and the only inconsistencies come from a lack of carries in general. Bradshaw will be the guy Indianapolis turns to if Richardson sputters out.
