Green Bay Packers tight end Colt Lyerla went unclaimed on waivers, and he will be placed on injured reserve, ending his season before it even started.
Colt Lyerla placed on IR, ending fantasy season
Colt Lyerla passed through waivers and will spend his rookie year on injured reserve. We break down the fantasy implications.

The undrafted rookie tore his PCL and MCL in training camp and was waived/injured -- players with fewer than four years in the league must go through waivers before heading to IR. Lyerla went unclaimed and will spend his first season on the shelf. The 21-year-old went undrafted in May due to character concerns stemming from a series of incidents at the University of Oregon.
Fantasy impact: Lyerla had a shot to replace Jermichael Finley, but that role now falls to Andrew Quarless and Richard Rodgers, neither of whom has any real fantasy appeal. Lyerla is only 21 and has intriguing upside if he can come back from the injury and stay out of trouble. Dynasty owners will have to wait at least one year before they see him again, though, and he might not be worth the investment right now.
