Baltimore Ravens tight end Owen Daniels (leg) is currently sitting out practice and won't play against Washington on Saturday, according to Aaron Wilson. Daniels has spent the past eight seasons with the Houston Texans.
Owen Daniels sitting out with leg soreness, fantasy status in limbo
The Ravens tight end won’t play in Saturday’s game against Washington. We break down the fantasy implications.

Fantasy Impact: There was a time when Owen Daniels was a top-tier fantasy tight end, but given that he's now in his 30s and coming off a broken leg last year, those days are done. Now Daniels' role is to serve as a backup to Dennis Pitta, meaning the bulk of his value comes as a handcuff option.
Fantasy owners probably shouldn’t select Daniels on draft day at all, but he could be a surprise contributor and a great waiver wire grab if Pitta gets hurt during the season. Keep in mind that Daniels hasn’t played a full 16-game season in the NFL since 2008, so at this point in his career he’s only really worth using on a spot start basis. It remains to be seen whether or not he’ll be ready to go for the regular season.
