The New York Jets are sticking to their comments regarding the running back-by-committee approach this season. Head coach Rex Ryan has said that, despite Chris Johnson's arrival, the Jets will be splitting some time, with guys like Chris Ivory and Bilal Powell. Johnson, however, is not buying it. It's not that he doubts the ability of Ivory or Powell, he's just very confident in his own abilities.
Chris Johnson thinks he’s good enough to take bulk of carries, but Jets want to split them
The New York Jets want to split carries between Johnson, Chris Ivory and Bilal Powell. We break down the fantasy implications.

Johnson recently pointed out that he’s “never been a guy who’s had under a 1,000 yards,” and that there’s “a thousand backs out there that wish they could rush for 1,000 yards,” according to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News. He also implied that he will be playing too well to be benched, saying that, while the Jets have “a couple backs here,” things are different “once the games start.”
Fantasy Impact: Johnson probably gets a lot more flack than he deserves because he dropped off from the top level. He was among the best in the league, and then fell off a little, but he has still been effective every season he’s been in the league. That said, Ivory has been pretty effective of late as well, and Johnson hasn’t been super productive on a per-carry basis. He’s not a strong fantasy option simply because it seems entirely likely the Jets are very serious about splitting carries this season.
