The Detroit Lions will deploy a two-headed monster at the running back position this season, and that much was apparent in Friday night's preseason game versus the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Reggie Bush shines amid split duties in preseason dress rehearsal
Reggie Bush had the play of the night in Friday’s preseason matchup versus the Jacksonville Jaguars, but Joique Bell also remained heavily involved. We break down the fantasy implications.

The obvious highlight of the night came when Reggie Bush blew through a wide-open cutback lane and subsequently scampered 86 yards for the first-team's lone touchdown of the evening. Bush also had a would-be 24-yard run negated by a penalty. While Bush made the splash plays, it was Joique Bell who had the majority of the carries, toting the rock seven times for 24 yards to Bush's two carries for 95 yards.
Fantasy Spin: Though Bush’s snaps were likely truncated due to showing the coaches more than enough on his long run, his usage compared to Bell’s in this game likely won’t be too far off from what it will be this season. Bush will have the bulk of the receiving duties while Bell will be offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi’s short-yardage back, though both will still see time in each other’s roles.
Despite the split in duties, there is room for each running back to put up substantial production numbers with both totaling over 1,000 yards from scrimmage in 2013. However, their current ADPs aren’t leaving a ton to be had in terms of value on fantasy draft days. Bush can be had in the third round, and Bell in the fifth, and both have upside as RB2/RB3 roles.
