The Baltimore Ravens confirmed that running back Bernard Pierce has a concussion. The team is calling it a "mild" concussion and still expects him to be ready for the regular season opener, although he will not be playing in the preseason finale. Pierce suffered the concussion in Saturday's preseason game against Washington.
Bernard Pierce has concussion, still carries small fantasy value
The Ravens say Bernard Pierce has a “mild” concussion and should be ready for the regular season. We break down the fantasy implications.

With Ray Rice suspended for the first two games of the season, Pierce is expected to start both games. Last year, he struggled along with the rest of Baltimore’s running game, rushing 152 times for just 436 yards and two touchdowns for a paltry 2.9 yards per carry.
Fantasy impact: The Ravens' first two games come against the Cincinnati Bengals and Pittsburgh Steelers, neither of which is a pushover on run defense. Still, Pierce should be toting the rock both times and has RB2 potential. He's still worth stashing in 12-man rosters if Rice doesn't show any signs of life, although Pierce feels like a slight reach at his eighth-round ADP.
