Cleveland Browns head coach Mike Pettine isn't certain that veteran wide receiver Nate Burleson will make the roster this season. Pettine said it hurt Burleson's chances "not being out there," according to the Akron Beacon Journal, referring to a strained hamstring that has forced the receiver out of practice and caused him to miss Cleveland's last preseason game.
Nate Burleson’s spot on the roster isn’t guaranteed, but the Browns’ lack of options should help
Nate Burleson might have something left to contribute this season, but his spot on the roster isn’t a sure thing. We break down the fantasy implications.

Burleson joined the team this offseason but has yet to make an impact due to injuries. He missed significant time with the Detroit Lions last season as well. That came after he was off to the best start to a season of his career, leading many to believe he can still contribute with the Browns. He may be able, but he'll have to earn a spot on the roster first.
Fantasy Impact: Considering all that's going on with Josh Gordon, Burleson is pretty valuable for the Browns. The team also recently released Anthony Armstrong, which would seem to indicate Burleson's spot is safe. We can't outright recommend him as a must-start in fantasy football, but he could put in some good work after he proves he has a spot on the roster and in the lineup.
