St. Louis Rams running back Benny Cunningham has really impressed the team's coaching staff this preseason, according to a report by Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Although he's not expected to take the starting job away from Zac Stacy, he may get more playing time than he was due to see prior to the start of camp.
Benny Cunningham catching up to Zac Stacy in battle for fantasy football relevance
The Rams have two second-year running backs sharing the backfield and one is catching up to the other. We break down the fantasy implications.

Fantasy Impact: The Rams went into last season with Daryl Richardson and Isaiah Pead each getting a shot to make an impact and failing miserably, which is when Cunningham and Stacy came into the picture.
Though Stacy literally took the ball and ran with it, posting several big performances in 2013, Cunningham showed that he could also make a big impact despite limited opportunities. 2014 may indeed be the year that the carries even out a little bit more.
It goes without saying that any such occurrence would increase Cunningham's value and probably decrease Stacy's value. Fantasy owners will want to monitor this situation early in the season, especially considering a season-ending injury to quarterback Sam Bradford may allow opposing defenses to focus on stopping the Rams' rush attack.
