New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith has been looking more assertive this summer heading into the regular season, according to a report by Rich Cimini. Smith threw for just over 3,000 yards to go with 12 touchdown passes and 21 interceptions last season.
Geno Smith looking good in preseason, fantasy football starter in New York
The Jets’ sophomore quarterback is looking good as the preseason finale approaches. We break down the fantasy implications.

Fantasy Impact: Going into training camp this summer, some thought veteran passer Michael Vick would be a threat to Smith's chances of being the team's starter in 2014. While Vick may step in if Smith struggles early, it's clear the latter is the team's quarterback of the future.
Center Nick Mangold has acknowledged that his conversations with Smith this summer have been much more of a two-way conversation as it relates to discussing strategies and plays. The fact that Smith’s teammates have recognized his growth going into this season is a good sign.
Fantasy owners shouldn’t necessarily jump to select Smith as their No. 1 passer, but he does have a lot of upside and did put together some notable game-winning drives and spectacular plays last season. He’s a good grab once the top 10 passers are gone and would also be worth stashing as a backup.
