The Denver Broncos have a decision to make regarding kicker Brandon McManus. The team traded for the rookie kicker just before he was released by the New York Giants, as they believed another team would have claimed him before they could. Denver needs the kicking help after Matt Prater was suspended for the first four games of the regular season.
Brandon McManus struggles in Broncos debut; fantasy value iffy
Brandon McManus went 2-for-4 on field goals in his Denver Broncos debut. We break down the fantasy implications.

McManus has one of the biggest legs in the NFL, and there were reports of him kicking a 75-yard field goal at practice. Before the Broncos traded for him, he already had a few field goals of 50-plus yards in the preseason. However, McManus struggled with the long ball on Thursday when the Broncos took on the Dallas Cowboys. McManus made a 19-yard field goal and a 39-yard field goal, but missed from 52 and 54 yards.
Fantasy Impact: It’s worth noting that McManus’ spot on the roster seems fairly secure given that the Broncos recently traded for him, and the five touchbacks he managed against the Cowboys help, too. Denver has one of the most prolific offenses in the NFL, and smart money is on them valuing the touchbacks more than the 50-plus yards field goals. But as far as fantasy owners are concerned, McManus is a wild card at this point.
