Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Hakeem Nicks isn't yet in the sunset of his NFL career, but he's not enjoyed a particularly strong start to training camp. Nicks, who struggled in 2012 and 2013 after 1,000-yard seasons the previous two years, signed a deal with the Colts this offseason, but hasn't done a whole lot to impress the team.
Hakeem Nicks off to rough start in camp; fantasy value questionable at this stage
The Indianapolis Colts will take on the New York Jets on Thursday, and Hakeem Nicks’ playing time is one of the more interesting storylines. We break down the fantasy implications.

Despite most thinking the Colts got a good deal when he signed a one-year, $3.975 million contract, Nicks hasn’t cracked the starting lineup nor has he impressed offensive coordinator Pep Hamilton, who “still wants to see more from Nicks,” as noted by Stampede Blue.
On Thursday, the Colts will take on the New York Jets in their preseason opener, and it will be very interesting to see if and how much Nicks plays. He hasn't cracked the top two spots on the team, so he'd theoretically be the third man on the field behind T.Y. Hilton and Reggie Wayne.
Fantasy Impact: Nicks has been a very productive fantasy weapon for much of his career. But his career has been taking a downward trend over the past couple seasons, and it looks like there could be more than a couple players ahead of him on the “targets of Andre Luck” list when the season gets underway.
In other words, Nicks needs to turn things around sooner rather than later, come up big in the preseason and get into shape for the rest of training camp.
