Washington wide receiver DeSean Jackson left practice with an ankle injury on Wednesday, according to NFL.com. Washington was holding a joint practice with the New England Patriots which was considered a light walkthrough.
DeSean Jackson injures ankle at practice, doubtful for preseason opener
DeSean Jackson injured his ankle and likely won’t play in the team’s preseason opener against the New England Patriots. We break down the fantasy implications.

It sounds as though Jackson escaped serious injury, though. The receiver put ice on his ankle and eventually went back to the team’s locker room under his own power, albeit with a noticable limb. Head coach Jay Gruden said that Jackson got “cleated” and “twisted his ankle a hair,” according to the NFL.com report.
Officially, Jackson is now doubtful for Thursday's preseason opener against the Patriots. It doesn't seem likely that he would have received much playing time in the team's first preseason game -- he's slated to be the team's top receiver -- but seeing him catch passes from Robert Griffin III in a game for the first time was an exciting prospect.
Fantasy Impact: Jackson seems poised for a strong fantasy performance this season. He’s coming off the best season of his career and is pairing up with Griffin, one of the better quarterbacks in the league. Jackson will be the primary weapon of that offense. So what does this injury and his potential absence from preseason mean? If it’s handled properly, then not much. Jackson needs to take every precaution and not make the injury worse. If he does that, fantasy owners have nothing to worry about.
