Shonn Greene is the No. 1 running back for the Tennessee Titans, according to head coach Ken Whisenhunt, via Terry McCormick of Fox 17 and 102.5 FM The Game. Greene is listed above rookie Bishop Sankey and Dexter McCluster on the depth chart, and according to Whisenhunt, it's because he's the most experienced back.
Shonn Greene is the Titans’ starter, but Bishop Sankey may hold more fantasy value
Greene gets the starting nod for his experience, but Sankey is still favored to take over by the start of the regular season. We break down the fantasy implications.

The Titans will play the Green Bay Packers in their preseason opener Saturday, and smart money is on Greene getting the start and a few early carries. However, the team is probably much more interested to see what Sankey is able to do in a game, and will be watching him for signs of explosiveness.
Sankey was a second-round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, and most have him pegged as the Week 1 starter. Greene put up just 295 yards on 77 attempts last year, and is a full season removed from his 1,000-yard campaign with the New York Jets in 2012.
Fantasy Impact: Greene being pegged as the No. 1 back could lead some to think he’s worth a look in fantasy, but don’t be fooled. Greene is a long way from being a productive running back, and the reasoning given for him being No. 1 -- experience -- is tantamount to saying that the moment the Titans feel a guy like Sankey is ready, they’ll demote Greene. In other words: Pay attention to Sankey, not Greene, when the preseason action gets underway proper.
