Minnesota Vikings rookie quarterback Teddy Bridgewater isn't the team's starter, but he'll get some work with the first-team offense in the preseason opener against the Oakland Raiders, according to Matt Vensel of the Star Tribune. The decision was confirmed by head coach Mike Zimmer after Wednesday's morning practice.
Teddy Bridgewater to play with starters, fantasy value to be determined
Rookie quarterback Teddy Bridgewater will see some time with the starters on Friday. We break down the fantasy implications.

Matt Cassel was named the team's starter going into the game, and Minnesota has shifted its focus from a three-man quarterback battle to a one-on-one affair. Christian Ponder was the odd-man out, and we likely won't see him until the second half of Friday's preseason game. Smart money is on Bridgewater getting the bulk of the playing time, since the Vikings know less about him than the rest of their QB crop.
Bridgewater will get a “significant amount of playing time,” according to the report. If he outplays Cassel throughout the preseason, it’s unclear if the Vikings would give him the starting job for the regular season, or if they would require poor play on Cassel’s part to make a switch midseason.
Fantasy Impact: None of the Vikings quarterbacks inspire a whole lot of confidence right now. Minnesota will likely have a pretty decent offense at the end of the day, but there’s no way to tell which guy will be starting the bulk of the regular-seasons game. If your draft is still a ways away, then you should probably keep an eye on Bridgewater come Friday.
