Washington will start the preseason without its top two receivers -- DeSean Jackson and Pierre Garcon will both be held out of Thursday night's preseason opener against the New England Patriots.
DeSean Jackson, Pierre Garcon missing Thursday’s game; fantasy owners shouldn’t worry
Washington’s top two receivers have minor nagging injuries and will miss the preseason opener. We break down the fantasy implications.

Jackson and Garcon are dealing with minor injuries, and with both players being established, the team opted not to expose them in a preseason game. Jackson tweaked his ankle on Wednesday in a joint practice session with the Patriots, when Darrelle Revis stepped on his foot. Garcon is sitting out with a lingering hamstring issue.
Santana Moss, Andre Roberts and Aldrick Robinson could end up seeing the majority of snaps with the first team on Thursday.
Fantasy impact: Neither injury is considered major and both players should be good to go for the regular season, so this news shouldn't affect their fantasy draft stock too much. Garcon led the league in targets and receptions last year, but those numbers should be coming down with Jackson and new coach Jay Gruden in town. Both players carry steady WR2 value with WR1 upside if Robert Griffin III can get back on track.
