Wes Welker is doing non-contact drills and is on schedule to be cleared for full practice later in the week. We break down the fantasy implications.

Welker suffered a concussion in Denver’s third preseason game and has yet to be cleared for contact, though that could happen sometime this week. He was allowed to travel with the team and participate in light drills, but is still in the NFL’s concussion protocol. This is Welker’s third concussion in the past year -- his regular season ended in Week 14 last season, and he didn’t return until the divisional round of the playoffs.
Fantasy impact: Wednesday's practice reports will tell us more about Welker's Week 1 status, but it's looking like he will suit up if he doesn't have any setbacks. His concussion history is an obvious concern, but Welker should continue to soak up targets from the slot position and be a weekly WR3, with more value in PPR leagues. Emmanuel Sanders and Cody Latimer should still be owned as insurance if Welker can't go.
