You know what someone is going to have to explain to me? Heath daggone Miller.
Fantasy football rankings, Week 2: Tight ends
A swath of Week 1 injuries created some roster holes, and an earlier dive into the waiver wire than most anticipated.

We have daily fantasy War Rooms, where any and everyone can stop by for custom fantasy advice. And danged if Heath Miller doesn't come up all the time.
People love having backup tight ends, even when it doesn't necessarily make sense. Okay, if you drafted Rob Gronkowski and could get, say, Zach Ertz, that was understandable, because as good as Gronkowski is, you basically know he'll miss some games, and having depth there is smart.
But Jason Witten, Jimmy Graham, Greg Olsen? With few exceptions, you're starting those guys every week. You'll need a bye-week fill-in, sure, but when that time comes, it's easier to just grab someone off the waiver wire. Marcedes Lewis, Delanie Walker, Jared Cook. Yes, and Heath Miller. Once you get outside of the top 12 or 14 tight ends, the next tier is long, and it's a bunch of guys who have roughly equal values. No sense burning a roster spot all season on a guy like Miller, who you'll use once at best, when he -- or someone roughly the same -- will be available when the time comes. And yet, he is owned on so many commenters' teams.
In Week 1, though, we had to start diving in on some backups early. Injuries to several prominent tight ends mean that the lower tier -- the Walkers, Cooks, Millers -- will likely come into play before we even get to the bye weeks. If you owned one of the guys who got hurt, assuming they are ruled out for Week 2, you’ll have to dip into reserve territory, which means there’s someone on your roster that you’ll have to dump earlier than you imagined.
Who are those hurt guys? Well:
- Jordan Cameron hurt his shoulder against the Steelers. He's not yet been ruled out for Sunday, but the team did sign Gerell Robinson Tuesday, a sign the Browns might not be very optimistic about Cameron playing.
- Jordan Reed pulled a hamstring early Sunday, with Niles Paul filling the role in his stead. We don't yet have word how long he's out, but even the best prognoses don't have him on the field this Sunday.
- You probably weren't counting on the Bengals' Tyler Eifert this season, but he was a popular sleeper candidate before dislocating his elbow Sunday. He's gone for a few weeks at least.
On top of that, Charles Clay had a little-usage game that has many fantasy players jumping ship. Fantasy owners who have Dennis Pitta or Julius Thomas still don't really need a backup, but many guys who didn't need to have a backup do now.
So add a Dwayne Allen or a Levine Toilolo or a Larry Donnell if you've lost your starter. It didn't make sense to waste a roster spot on those guys a couple weeks ago, but it does now.
Heck, it might even make sense to add Heath Miller.
