Cincinnati Bengals tight end Tyler Eifert (elbow) has been placed on short term injured reserve by the team, according to a report by Kevin Patra. The move means Eifert won't be eligible to return until at least Week 10 against the New Orleans Saints.
Tyler Eifert placed on injured reserve, on fantasy sidelines until Week 10
The Bengals’ second-year tight end has been placed on the short-term injured reserve list and is guaranteed to be out until Week 10. We break down the fantasy implications.

Fantasy Impact: Eifert wasn’t exactly expected to produce like an elite fantasy tight end coming into this season. He caught just 3 passes for 37 yards in the team’s opening game last week.
The reality is that quarterback Andy Dalton has other weapons at his disposal that are almost always going to be used ahead of any of the team's tight ends. That includes wide receiver A.J. Green and running backs Giovani Bernard and Jeremy Hill.
In Eifert's absence, Jermaine Gresham is the next in line to see increased targets at the tight end position. Gresham was targeted five times last week, catching 2 passes for just 16 yards. In general, neither of the Bengals' tight ends make enough of an impact offensively to be worth the investment of fantasy owners, except in very deep leagues.
