Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton was a full participant for Wednesday's practice. Coach Ron Rivera had already previously said his franchise quarterback will be giving it a go against the Detroit Lions in Week 2.
Cam Newton practices on Wednesday to ease minds of fantasy owners
Cam Newton went through practice on Wednesday. We break down the fantasy implications.

The Panthers sat Newton out Week 1 because they were worried a shot to his ribs would lead to an additional 3-4 weeks on the sideline, but those concerns seem to have subsided. Newton not having any limitations Wednesday should be all the info we need to pencil him into the starting lineup. Another practice on Thursday or Friday wouldn’t hurt, though.
Fantasy impact: There was some worry of Cam not having any help in the passing game this season. However, that thought may have changed after watching rookie receiver Kelvin Benjamin carve up the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense in Week 1. Newton may not run the ball as much as he usually does, but he's shown he's capable of being a pocket passer. Unless fantasy owners have a terrific backup in a favorable matchup, Cam should be in all lineups in an above-average matchup.
