Oakland Raiders running back Maurice Jones-Drew is having an inauspicious start to his 2014 season. He suffered a hand injury in Sunday's loss to the New York Jets, and had a procedure on Monday. He's "not expected to miss much time, if any."
Maurice Jones-Drew has hand injury, fantasy value dropping
Maurice Jones-Drew had a poor Raiders debut Sunday and is now dealing with a hand injury. We break down the fantasy implications.

Jones-Drew was ineffective in his Raiders debut, rushing for just 11 yards on nine carries and catching two passes for 12 yards while playing 30 snaps. Darren McFadden wasn't much better, getting 21 total yards on five touches.
Fantasy impact: Jones-Drew isn't expected to miss Sunday's tilt against the Houston Texans, but anyone who watched his Week 1 tape should be worried about his production. He lacked any of the burst and toughness he showed in his prime with the Jacksonville Jaguars and is already looking out of gas at age 29.
Now Jones-Drew has a gimpy hand and will be facing a Texans defense that still looks imposing even without Jadeveon Clowney. Jones-Drew and McFadden are hands-off in all but the deepest of fantasy leagues. The Raiders will be in a real mess if they can't establish a reliable ground game for rookie quarterback Derek Carr.
