Jacksonville Jaguars running back Toby Gerhart expects to play against the Washington football team in Week 2, according to Ryan O'Halloran of the Florida Times-Union. Gerhart did not practice on Wednesday due to an ankle sprain he sustained in the team's Week 1 loss. He did return to the game after sustaining said injury, and said on Thursday that his health status is "progressing."
Toby Gerhart expects to play in Week 2; has some fantasy value
Toby Gerhart says his ankle injury is progressing and he expects to play in Week 2 against Washington. We break down the fantasy implications.

Gerhart finished the season opener with 18 carries for 42 yards, good for a paltry 2.3 yards per carry on average. He didn’t find the end zone, but he added two receptions for 15 yards. It wasn’t a great start to his season, but he’ll be looking for a rebound in Week 2.
Fantasy Impact: Gerhart isn't a RB1 option by any means, but he impressed in training camp and the preseason. If he manages to get healthy, he could really produce. The Jaguars got surprisingly strong play out of quarterback Chad Henne at times in Week 1, but they'll need someone like Gerhart to come in and carry the ball about 20 times per game. He's definitely better than the 2.3 yards per carry average, so fantasy owners should keep him on track to start in Week 2.
