Carolina Panthers running back DeAngelo Williams did not practice on Thursday due to a thigh injury. He was a full participant on Wednesday and said he woke up sore Thursday morning. He will likely be listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions.
DeAngelo Williams’ thigh injury could make Jonathan Stewart a viable fantasy play
DeAngelo Williams did not practice on Thursday due to a thigh injury. We break down the fantasy implications.

It’s unclear what exactly is bothering Williams, but he did have a quad injury in December 2013 and it caused him to miss a game on Dec. 1. It’s never good to see a player sit out of action after participating in practice the day before, but there is still not enough information to rush to judgement here. Friday’s practice will be a much larger indicator.
Fantasy impact: If DeAngelo were to sit, Jonathan Stewart would make for a very strong option in fantasy leagues. The two backs split carries in most games, so Stewart could be looking at a 20-touch outing against a mediocre Lions defense. Although, quarterback Cam Newton getting goal-line carries will limit Stewart's upside. Mike Tolbert would also get in the mix and could become a low-end RB3.
