The news that the suspension won’t be fully reversed shouldn’t come as a surprise, with Browns beat writers saying there is a no chance that Gordon suits up for Week 2. The NFL and NFLPA could meet on Friday to discuss the new drug policy, but the two parties could come to terms as soon as Thursday.
With all this information taken into account, it’s still unclear when we’ll see Gordon on the field for Cleveland. The Browns “certainly hope” they get their star receiver back at some point and mentioned that the NFLPA has pressure on them to get things done quickly.
Fantasy impact: All this non-news makes it tough to gauge Gordon’s fantasy value right now. One thing is clear: Gordon needs to be owned in all leagues. He was last year’s top receiver and even if you know you’re going to have him in just the fantasy playoffs, he’s worth a stash.
