New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan said tight end Jace Amaro is "going to be a major factor" for the Jets. The coach added it could be "pretty soon."
Jace Amaro could be a fantasy factor sooner than we thought
Jace Amaro could be a major factor for the Jets, according to their coach. We break down the fantasy implications.

The Jets have watched the New England Patriots carve them up with their tight ends for a long time now, and it's a big reason why they opted to take Amaro in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft. Amaro was targeted four times in Week 1, catching two of those for seven yards.
Quarterback Geno Smith looked great against the Raiders, which suggests Amaro could get targets as a hot read as teams look to blitz Smith more often. The Texas Tech product reeled in 106 catches and seven TDs during his final college season in 2013 season, so he's capable of being a focal point of an offense.
Fantasy impact: While he’s still not on the fantasy radar in standard leagues just yet, we could get familiar with Amaro more as the year goes along. Besides Eric Decker, there are not a lot of red-zone threats on the Jets, which means Amaro could find himself with four or five scores in his rookie season. Fantasy owners can just keep an eye on him now.
