If you find yourself looking for sleepers at the running back position, you are not alone. After all, injuries (Andre Ellington, Ben Tate) and time-shares (Zac Stacy, Frank Gore) have already reared their ugly heads, so it should come as no shock that the most volatile position in football has seen a fair amount of turnover. Still, there are more than enough favorable matchups to exploit in Week 2.
Fantasy football sleepers: Week 2 Running Backs
Looking for a running back with upside? We got you covered in Week 2.

Johnson is certainly splitting carries, but it seems to be a bit overblown. Leading the Jets in touches during Week 1, New York continues to have zero interest in getting any other running back outside of Johnson involved in the passing game. And really, that's why the Packers are the perfect matchup.
For one, Green Bay’s defense has allowed a 20-point running back in nine of its last eleven games. And if the Jets happen to grab a lead, you can be sure they’ll do everything in their power to control the clock. If they fall behind (more likely), they’ll play catchup, which involves the occasional check down. Combine that with his team-high 13 carries last week and Johnson seems like a reasonable RB2.
Tough matchup, sure. But with an ankle injury limiting Reggie Bush in practice this week, we're only hours away from Bell getting the starting nod. You could do worse than using the workhorse of the Lions backfield.
While most continue to lean towards Bishop Sankey, Greene remains the actual benefactor of the Titans ground game. And with 15 carries all but guaranteed, the Cowboys defense will have yet another punisher to worry about. You're not starting him every week, but at home against Dallas? He deserves your flex considerations.
Wait, COME BACK!! Just hear me out before you throw your computer through the nearest window.
With MJD having gone through surgery this week, McFadden remains the lone option at running back. The Texans might have destroyed Robert Griffin, but Washington just as easily became the seventh team to rush for more than 110 yards against Houston in their last eight games. If he stays healthy, McFadden could sneak into the top 25.
