The Tampa Bay Buccaneers had to have entered Week 1 with some optimism. They got to face the Carolina Panthers' backup quarterback, which is just about the best way to start a season. And that optimism had to make the resulting 20-14 loss all the more painful.
Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 2: Rams vs. Buccaneers
Neither of these teams is exactly loaded with fantasy juggernauts. Who do you want to use?

In Week 2, those Buccaneers get another backup quarterback -- or possibly, even the backup's backup. They host the 0-1 St. Louis Rams at 4:05 p.m. ET Sunday, and the chance at a second backup quarterback has to be enticing, despite the Week 1 struggles. There will be a few fantasy performers to keep an eye on as well:
Rams
Start in every league: ...
Start if you're desperate: Zac Stacy, Brian Quick, Greg Zuerlein, Defense/Special Teams
There isn’t anyone in this game that has to be used in fantasy. Sad times. Stacy is still interesting, riding his production from the second half of 2013, but he offered next to nothing in Week 1, and will have to re-prove himself to be a must-start. ... Quick was obviously the Rams’ No.1 target in Week 1, and odds are good that will continue. ... The Rams’ defense could have been forgiven for a bad first game, because things happen, but between that and DE Chris Long’s injury, the unit is far more of a question mark.
If Hill is healthy enough to start this week, or if Davis or Keenum gets the gig, it’s hard to find a scenario in which they’re fantasy viable. ... Cunningham has been taking enough touches from Stacy to hurt his value, but not enough to give him value in his own right. ... Austin will have occasional big games, but he’s got a lot more proving to do before he is fantasy-relevant. ... His Week 1 should have scared off any holdouts on Britt; he’s a non-factor. ... No reason to have Cook unless it’s a truly desperate situation.
Buccaneers
Start in every league: ...
Start if you're desperate: Doug Martin, Vincent Jackson, Defense/Special Teams
Assuming he's active (as of this writing, he's listed as questionable), Martin is probably a fantasy starter, but at the bottom end. Still, as bad as he was in Week 1, his leash is short. ... We all know what Jackson is in fantasy, with the ups and the downs, so he's a flex play right now. ... The Buccaneers' defense should offer help for fantasy owners against the sad St. Louis offense, but the unit also struggled mightily against Derek Anderson in Week 1, so they're on the hard-to-trust side.
He put up 13 fantasy points in Week 1, and McCown didn’t look even that good. ... If Martin is out, or if he ultimately gets benched, Rainey could be interesting, but more will have to change first. ... Evans‘ NFL debut wasn’t anything special. ... Seferian-Jenkins is the big name, but Myers got more looks in Week 1; neither is helpful in fantasy yet. ... The Bucs’ offense will need to show it can give Murray more kicking opportunities.
