Clay has been dealing with a knee injury, and it’s one that will “need some time” to get to 100 percent, according to beat reporter Omar Kelly. The ailment kept Clay limited during all three of the Dolphins practice days this week, but it is minor enough for him to remain in the team’s Sunday game-plans.
Fantasy Spin: The Bills did not give up many points to tight ends in 2013, but when the Chicago Bears dealt with injuries to Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery in their Week 1 matchup, they got production from Martellus Bennett. The Dolphins peppered Clay with six targets in Week 1, but that volume could provide more fruitful results this week than his 27-yard output the first time around.
Barring anything unexpected, Clay will be on the field for a rejuvenated Dolphins offense, and the opportunities for him to find the end zone look like they will be more frequent this year. He remains a borderline TE1/TE2.
