Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford struggled more against the Carolina Panthers defense than he did against the New York Giants Monday night. The quarterback threw for only one touchdown on Detroit's 24-7 loss Sunday.
Matthew Stafford can’t replicate Week 1 fantasy magic
After having a huge game Monday night, the Lions quarterback was much more pedestrian Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.

Six days after putting up 29 fantasy points, Stafford had only 13 Sunday. He threw for 291 yards and a touchdown, adding one interception. His touchdown came on a 1-yard pass to Jed Collins midway through the third quarter.
Fantasy impact: It’s no surprise Stafford had a tougher time against Carolina than he did against the Giants. He still threw for 291 yards, though the fact that those yards came on 48 pass attempts means his yards-per-attempt average was only 6.1.
Stafford did hit eight different pass-catchers with completions, targeting 10. It's hard to be too harsh on a quarterback struggling against a good defense like Carolina's. Stafford should be fine in Week 3, when Detroit takes on the Green Bay Packers.
