After missing Week 1 with ankle and rib problems, Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton debuted Sunday, leading the team to victory. The Panthers beat the Detroit Lions 24-7.
Cam Newton has productive fantasy debut for Panthers
After missing Week 1 with an injury, the Carolina quarterback led the team to victory Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.

Newton threw for 281 yards and a touchdown in the game. He added four rushes for 19 yards. His touchdown pass came on a 14-yard connection with Jason Avant in the third quarter.
Fantasy impact: After backup quarterback Derek Anderson led Carolina to victory in Week 1, a version of Newton that couldn't possibly have been at full strength did the same Sunday, this time without starting running back DeAngelo Williams. The Panthers certainly know how to put their quarterbacks in position to succeed.
If there were any real worries about Newton entering the season, they were about his health and his receiving corps. Newton looked healthy in Sunday’s game, and he hit seven different Panthers with passes, including five players who caught multiple passes each. The offense appears to be in good shape by Carolina’s standards.
