Buffalo Bills running back C.J. Spiller didn't go crazy in the team's running or passing game Sunday, but he did return a kickoff for a score to salvage some value. The performance came in Buffalo's 29-10 win over the Miami Dolphins.
C.J. Spiller has good fantasy day -- if you get credit for returns
The Buffalo running back had only 78 yards from scrimmage, but also had a 102-yard kick return touchdown Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.

Spiller had 69 rushing yards on 12 carries, adding 9 receiving yards on a catch. His backup, Fred Jackson, had 24 rushing yards on 12 carries and 27 more receiving yards on two catches of his own. The big play, though, came in the third quarter, when Spiller returned a post-field goal kickoff 102 yards for a touchdown.
Fantasy impact: Kick returns often don’t matter for fantasy skill-position players, instead counting as credit for a defense/special teams. Because of that, Spiller’s overall fantasy day likely comes as a disappointment for many of his owners.
Ultimately, Spiller’s Sunday probably frustrates more fantasy owners than it elates, as it just serves as a tease. Behind Spiller, Jackson’s day was worse, as he didn’t gain many yards or many yards per rush. The backs will both need to offer fantasy owners more going forward.
